Oil City, Pennsylvania is the sort of small rust-belt town where things don't change much and outsiders are viewed with suspicion. When the filmmaker, a native son, returns to announce his same-sex wedding and help a gay teen who is being tormented at school, the conservative rural community faces a turning point.
IN A TOWN CALLED OIL CITY is Qwaves' first feature-length documentary. It is produced with the generous support of the Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program. Additional support is provided by the New Tudor Foundation and the James H. Bryson Fund of the Philadelphia Foundation. The fiscal sponsor is the Center for Independent Documentary.
IN A TOWN CALLED OIL CITY is currently finishing post-production. Please watch this space for updates. |
